Advertising is never easy and if you want quality than it isn’t going to come cheap. There is a lot of research that goes into designing campaigns to attract the target audience for each business.
The problem with that is that even with all the research and a great creative team there is never a guarantee that the campaign will succeed. That is not good news to businesses that have just spent a large sum of money to pay for creative work, not to mention the cost of television, radio and other promotional methods.
It shouldn’t be surprising that people are always looking for ways to cut these costs and to find ways to increase the success rate. One way that seems to be gaining in popularity is to turn your advertising over to your consumers.
Many companies are offering the opportunity to let their biggest fans come up with their own commercials for the products. These commercials can be aired or posted at online sites for judging and then the winner gets their commercial aired or cash prizes.
Doritos and PepsiMAX created this year the Crash the Superbowl contest. You could create your commercial for either brand and submit. The finalists can be found at www.crashthesuperbowl.com. Winners can have the chance to win cash, have their commercial aired or tickets to the Superbowl.
Fans love the chance to create commercials for their favorite brands. It also gives undiscovered talent a chance to have their work seen. Businesses get good PR buzz for their product and increase traffic to their online sites. It gets people talking about them.
Next time you’re wondering how to create campaigns to appeal to your audience, consider asking them to tell you.
