Most customers want to shop, they need something or they would not be visiting your site in the first place. They are searching for diapers, clothes, random art, makeup, machine parts, travel and more. People are consumers by nature or the human race would die. We consume food, fuel and fibers at an alarming rate. This being said, since consumers keep you healthy, then it may be important to consider them when you create, update or transfigure your site.
The majority of consumers are patient when it comes to shopping on the net; patient because they know that they will not be receiving their products quickly as in instant. But, that they will be receiving their services or products within a reasonable amount of time. The amount of time will vary depending on what it is that they are buying. The method of purchase for each product is different, some products are instant downloads, and this being said means that they are of course instant gratification. But, on the whole customers who shop online are usually very patient shoppers.
A list of what consumers want
- A headache free shopping experience
- Shipping options that are reasonable
- Quick troubleshooting
- Turnaround time less than 48 hours
Consumers want to shop and view products online. They want to ensure that each and every product that they buy is well researched. The research could be for the best product, the cheapest mode and the quickest form of shipping. Customers who shop on your site want to be able to get into their cart, delete or add information as needed, without the hassle of a flash program slowing the computer down.
They want to be able to search easily through the list of products. They need to know that their questions can be answered either in the frequently asked questions section or through email. Sometimes, customers want to talk to someone the old-fashioned way, via telephone. It is important to offer this form of customer service to your consumers as well. The most common objectives that consumers need to have met when they visit a site include having the service available.

The consumer or customer is always right because they pay your salary. They are the ones who want to purchase your things and keep your business booming. The consumer is not necessarily always the best option for you. But they are the ones who shop on your site day and night. So remember to keep your customer happy. They want to have a secure shopping experience this means ensuring the customer is secure.
There is a constant barrage of hackers and spammers out there that are consistently attempting to build programs that will break down your defenses. Do not let them in; this is a challenge and your responsibility as the business owner. Always ensure that your defenses are up, and that a bot cannot attack your system. PayPal is a preferred method by many consumers. They do not have to type in their credit card information, they simply go onto the account, and ensure that they link an email address to your shopping cart. For many this ensures that they will not be the victims of credit card fraud or any other fraud.
