bad part is everyone in your life now knows what you are doing.
This is particularly challenging when you are trying to provide security to people. Dell Inc. CEO Michael Dell shut down his daughter’s twitter account.
Alexa Dell is like most 18 year olds who likes to go on to her social sites and keep her friends updated. But giving her exact whereabouts makes the security detail in charge of keeping her safe frustrated.
It’s not that Mr. Dell doesn’t like social media, he tweets himself. But he focuses his tweets on the company and products.
This isn’t always a problem of the super rich. There have been stories about people showing themselves on vacation and then coming home to find they have been burglarized.
Like all communications tools you need to think before you use them. You need to understand that posting details about your personal life in too much detail can be seen by people you might not want to know.
So the next time you go on vacation, think before you post or tweet. It might be fun to make your friends jealous of the good time you are having but you can always share the info when you are back at home.
What do you think; do you tell people where you are all the time and don’t think it’s a problem?
