Back to school bargains

Back to school shopping can get expensive and parents need help.

This time of year all parents are looking for bargains. A close second to the bargains is that we are all trying to save time.

The start of the school year is extremely busy. You are busy getting the kids new clothes and making sure they have all the supplies they need for class. Retailers know parents are out shopping and it’s the perfect time to work out a partnership.

Anyone who shops at Kohl’s knows they are always offering sale items, shopping discounts and the chance to earn Kohl’s cash. On a recent visit to Kohl’s I received a $5 off coupon for $50 or more spent, not at Kohl’s but at Staples. When I went to Staples, on the back of my receipt was a $10 discount for $30 spent at Kohl’s.

It makes perfect sense to work out a partnership between the two stores. Both are large retailers and offer locations all over the U.S. Between the two of them parents can get pretty much anything and everything any age student would require. Kohl’s offers clothes, appliances for dorm rooms, sheets and furniture.  Staples provides computers, art supplies, paper and classroom necessities.

Knowing parents are going to need all these items it’s a great way to get them when they start their shopping at one store and providing an incentive to continue their shopping at the other store.

What other good deals have you seen for back to school this year?
